Bonnie Bolling's first collection of poetry, In the Kingdom of the Sons, (Briery Creek Press) won the 2011 The Liam Rector First Book Prize for Poetry. Originally from Evansville, Indiana, Bonnie lives in Southern California and Bahrain. She received her M.F.A. from the University of California, Riverside, and is the editor-in-chief of Verdad, and assistant editor of Pearl. She has worked as a free-lance writer, seamstress, and barista, and taught in the UC Riverside creative writing program. As a scholarship recipient she attended writer workshops in Prague, Napa Valley, and Bread Loaf. Her work appears in The Southern Review, Pearl, The Courtland Review, The Dos Passos Review, The American Literary Review and other fine journals.
