"When taking a photo my chief concern is composition. My photo shots are similar to my poetry in this respect, I try to find a central theme and hone either the poem or the photo down to that central element. In photography it’s cropping any unnecessary distractions, in poetry it's redacting superfluous lines. Essentially poetry is creating a photographic image in words, and photography is creating a theme through pictures."
