Poetry by Christopher Mulrooney

that weekend project

the sun and moon are both put out
a foreign gentleman no doubt
installs a martyred president
above the park that's nicely meant
to stand for elevation far
beyond the wash hung out to dry
where children water-tinsel ply
all down the muddy hill wet grasses mar
